Coal Miners To Be Paid Wages Egress Association—Copyright. Wellington, May 7. An announcement that the Mines Department has decided to pay employees of State coal mines a day’s wages for the dlay they will lose by re-son of a holiday on Coronation Day was made this evening by the Minister of Mines, Hon. P. C. Webb The Minister expressed . he hope that private coal mine companies would follow the Government's lead.
