Received May 8, 11 a.m. London, May 7. “I am convinced that Russia cannot be neglected from all viewpoints, particularly Trade,” Hon. W. Nash. New Zealand ! Minister of Marketing, told the Australian Associated Press. His visit, he said, had shown that the possibility of Trade between New Zealand and 1 Russia was limited at present, but : he had worth-while and valuable i discussions with the Commissars lof Foreign Trade, M. Rosenholz, Foreign Affairs, M. Litvinoff, Finance, M. Grinko, and many other officials, which indicated that the position might be improved. Mr Nash said that he discussed trade and working conditions, wages, priees and social insurance ■ with M. Schvemik, general secre- | tary of the Trade Unions, the : membership of which was 25,000,000. Although at present the work" ing efficiency was below Western standards, his impressions of Moscow were that gigantic tasks were being achieved, and the happiness, hopefulness and activity of the people. •He inspected’ the’” adv anted medical centre at Moscow, which was a splendid example of the ■ new spirit of RusJa. On behalf of New Zealand, Mr Nash extended good wushes for the Success of the work. He spent a morning at Bolshevo, a town of 12,000 people, many of whom were convicts and probationers, who' were allowed to take part freely in communal life and work at standard rates of pay in the factories. It was- an interesting experiment, and the principle ar.d procedure should be extended. Mr Nash paid a tribute to the freedom which which he was ; allowed to travel and ask ques- : lions. Remarkable friendliness, !he said, was shown him every- ' where.
