The need for maintaining Empire shipping was one of the burning topics at a private session of the empire Parliamentary Association (Conference to-day. Mr M. J. Savage, Prime Minister of ; New Zealand, analysed the problems J of keeping trade routes open and the [prevention of discrimination against j Britain, and indicated ways in which i other Empire countries could assist. I Mr N. J. Miakin (New Zealand), Mr W. Forgan Smith, Premier of ; Queensland, and Mr Jennings partij cipated in the debate. I Mr W. S. Morrison, Minister of Agriculture, outlined Britain’s policy of protec'ing agriculture. Messrs R. V Butler, A. A. Dunstan, Guthrie and W. J. Broadfoot (New Zealand) participated in the discussion.
