OLD DESPATCH BOX

FAMILY HEIRLOOM / 1 Used By King’s Courier An ancient despatch box used by a King's courier over 200 years ago, nt present displayed in Mr W. G. Liddell’s Broadway premises has attracted considerable attention. It is still in a very good state of preservation and the Royal Arms still retain some of their gilt. The box was brought to New Zealand front Edinburgh some 70 years ago and has been in possession of Mr Liddell's family for generations. Ascording to family history, it was used by one of his ancestors who was a King’s Courier in the reign of George 11, 1727.
