PERSONAL.

Hon. R. Seinple, Minister of Public Works, returned to Wellington from the South Island yesterday. Mr H. A. Ostler, son of .Mi- Justice Ostler, has been granted a commission in the Royal Air Force in England. Sister E. A. Robertson, who has been district nurse at Whangamomona, was farewelled by residents of the district on Thursday before her departure for a new position. Mr Arthur Tait, of the J. C, WilRamson managerial staff left for Sydney with the Monte Carlo Russian Ballet in the Awatea on Tuesday. Mr W. Tait remained in Christchurch, and later will join the managerial staff of the new “Maid of the Mountains” company at Auckland. Mr W. E. G. Paqualin, who has been manager of the Palmerston North branch of the Union Bank of Australia for the past two years, has been transferred to Dunedin on promotion. Mr J. B. Stewart, formerly of the Whakatane branch, is Mr Paqualin’s succcessor.
