CORONATION DAY
Combined Gathering At Victoria Park At a meeting o£ the Coronation committee last night, Mr D. J. Malone staked that the celebrations would be opened at Victoria Dark on Wednesday morning with a combined gathering and parade of school children with flags The Citizens’ and Pipe Bands would parade, and the speakers would be the Mayor, Mr J. W. McMillan (for the town), Messrs W. J. Polson, M.P. (Parliament), T. R. Anderton (.county), and Rev. J. Paterson (church). Messrs P. Thomson, A. 11. R. Aniess and A. hl Pollock reported on arraugx ments for the aero pagepnt. Drama League play, and ball, resp.cJvely. When advice was received that the Horticultural Society .could not do more than to give 12 trees, Mr Thomson wiis appointed to select suitable tree's for planting in the streets, acting in'conjunction with the borough foreman, Mr R. Richards. POST OFFICE HOURS The Stratford Post Office will be closed in all branches on May 12. The street let er receiving boxes will be cleared at 7 a.m. on that day. Mails close al 8 a.m., ami will be despatched to principal post olfteee served by r.-iil. No mails will be despate.h<d to post offices on the Strat-ford-Main Trunk lino. The telegraph office will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 7 film, to 8 p.m. The telephone exchange will be open continuously.There will be a delivery over the counter on Tuesday, May 11, between the hours of 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. of correspondence, including regie.ered, usually delivered by postmen.
