NATIONAL PARTY

Organisation in Otago and Southland Dunedin, May 4. Since March 1, organisation .in the interests of the National Party has been proceeding steadily in Otago and Southland. In the Oamaru district committees have been established at Oamaru, Windsor, Hampden, Palmerston and Waikouaiti. Considerable activity is being shown in the Mataura electorate, where committees have been formed at Gore, Mataura, Wyndham, and Tapanui. The Clutha electorate has a strong organisation which has the advantage of having a sitting member of Parliament in the person of Mr J. A. McL. Roy. The party organiser, Mr L. Colbourne, has been devoting much time to the country electorates, and is at present attending a series of meetings arranged in the Southland districts. These will culminate in a rally of all southern electorates at Invercargill on May 4.
