; MOUNTED RIFLES CAMP. I The annual camp of th Queen [Alexandra’s (W. W.C.) Mounted Rifles I will be hld at the New Plymouth | showgrounds from May 17 to May 27. I The regiment will take into camp up ; o six light dars. and twelve motor* I cycl s with the object of increasing the scope of mechanised training. The local Defence Office is seeking new recruits with cars or cycles available for the camp, and also members for the orderly room s all, who will receive training- in typewriting- and clerical work and will parade with the * rank of N.C.O. I* STRATFORD TERRITORIALS. j The month of May marks the end | of th? in ining y ar of the Territorials j for 1936-37, and the new training I year bpgins in June. The attendance at the local centre is keeping up w 11, th re being over eigh y present at the ’/ st parade, while several new recruits have offered their services. The Stratford centre i s entering a team in I he guarding-mounting competition, Iwh-ch will be held for teams from the platoons in the regiment. Stratford have won the event twice and were runners-up on one occasion.
