Social and Personal. Mrs R. R. Tyrer, Ariel Street, was “at home” on Monday afternoon. * * * Miss H. Grant has returned from a holiday at Auckland, where she was the guest of Mrs R. Richardson, late of Victoria Road, Stratford. * * * Mrs L, Jardine entertained friends at bridge on Tuesday afternoon at her residence in East Road. She wore a becoming black panne velvet gown, with coatee to match. Those present were: Mesdames G. Hall. A. W. Budge, D. Steven, A. Coleman, J. Lyons. P. D. Jefferies and F. Uniacke. * * * Mrs Frtdric, Brecon Road, gave a delightful afternoon party on Tuesday for Mrs Heialy, of Norfolk Island. Mrs Fredric wore a becoming frock of green ring velvet, »w4th gold lacing, and there wera beautiful chrysanthemums decorating the draw, ing room. The guests were: Mesdames Healy, S. Pitt, H. Good, E. S. Rutherford, S. Forritt, O. Curtis, F. Tyrer, Ji. Anderson, L. J. Furrie and G. Clarke; the Misses E. Wilson and M,. Porritt.
