Strikes And Threats Of Strikes In U.S.A. New York, April 27. President Roosevelt has intervened in a 'threatened: strike of 25,000 employe s in eleven major railways here. The affiliated Brotherhood of Railway Clerks has affiliated with th’* American Federation of Lnbour and has appointed an emergency board to .'nvet'tiga’e the dispute and make v commendations for its settlement. Under the terms of the Railway Labour Act it is illegal for the union to call la strike within the next 60 days The board is also to ttudy the controversy batwe n the brotherhood and the Longshoremen’s Association.
