MEMORIAL AT WINDSOR
HIS LATE MAJESTY UNVEILING CEREMONY King’s First Public Speech Since Accession Press Association —Conyrxght. Received 11.5 a.m. London, April 23. The King’s first public speech since his accession to the Throne was at the unveiling of the Windsor Memorial to his father, at the intersection of the main streets of the town. The ceremony took place to-day. The memorial, which was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, is in the form of a cenotaph, surmounted by the Royal Emblems, and flanked by two fountains. It bears a plaque, inscribed: “George the Fifth, first Sovereign of the House of Windsor.” The King said that the memory cf his father would always be an inspiration of high example and hope.
