Administration of rural Taranaki local body affair s by two county councils, followed by the eventual absorpbodies, and ithe reduction of th'.e lion of a number of interior local number of county councils in the Dominion from 125 to -about 45 were provided for in the tentative local body amalgamation proposals placed before a meeting of 57 representatives of South and Central Taraniaki local bodies at Hawera yesterday by the Minister for Internal Affairs Hon. W. Parry. Grouping of the HaWera, Elthani, Stratford, Waimate West and Whan<amomona counties was advocated.
