HERR HITLER’S ATTITUDE “Overmuch Positive Optimism.” Press Association—Copyright. London, April 21. Official German circles hold that Mr. George Lansbury read overmuch positive optimism into Herr Hitler’s statement that he 'Was willing to participation in a conference of economic co-operation and mutual understanding.
They emphasise that "Herr Hitler has always maintained and made it Hear to Mr. Lansbury that Germany would never participate in a world conference that was not well prepared and whose success was not assured. Moreover, Germany has no in tention. of going to a roundtable confertnce, however distinguished, before the colonial issue is cleared up to her satisfaction.”
President Roosevelt disclaimed any present. Intention of calling a world trade and disarmamt'nt conference states a Washington cable. It is understood the Japanese Government is twilling to participate in a world economic conference, stages a cable from Tokio.
