That death was caused by shock and fracture of the chest and Ekull is the result of leaving the 'oad near Tarawera on Good Friday was the finding of the Coroner at an inquest into the death of Malcolm Carmen't Laidlaw. A rider added that no blame was attachable to the drivers of two other cars which Laidlaw had to pats. Witnesses gave evidence 'that the width of the road at the particular point was 12 feet and varied in other parts to <te.n feet. The inquest wa<s 'the sequel to a fatal accident in which Laidlaw's car plunged over a 40ft. bank into a riverbed. Before the previous adjournment a brother of the dead man expressed the opinion that the driver was forced off the ro-ad by a passing □ar.
