BOROUGH WORK.
Roads and Water-mains Reporting to the Borough Council last night, the foreman, K"r R. Richards, stated that the tar work for the season had been, completed. One hundred and fifty, chains of road had b en re-turfaced on various streets, and one mile of new road laid down.
The work ot renewing the old mater mains had been completed, and the men engaged on the job had been discharged.
The foreman suggested that the council re-grade and re-metal with crushed shingle both Juliet Str: let South and Orlando Street South from Lear Street to Celia Street, as they were in a worn-out The spoil could be used to fill in the railway triangle, or it could be dumped into tjte Ariel Street South gully or at the approach of the Cordelia Street swing bridge.
