After the Rangatira began to back out from the wharf to-night it 'Was discovered that a man who was farewelling a friend aboard had not left the ship. Captain Morgan, when informed, stopped the Rangatira and signalled for a launch to take, off the unwilling

passenger, but a few moments later countermanded this and lowered a boat, which landed the man at Fryatt Quay. The Rangatira got under way again about half an hour after first leaving the wharf.
