WHEAT-GROWING.

DOMINION’S NEEDS Encouragement by Government. Press Association—Copyright. Christchurch, April 18. In an endeavour to provide the people of New Zealand with their full requirements of wheat, Hon. D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Industries and Commerce, has promised an increase in the price of wheat if necessary (to meet increased costs. “In view of the dominant economic factors which have caused the Government to embark on a policy of encouragement to wheat-growers and of adequate protection for industry,” said Mr Sullivan, “I again appeal to farmers to play their part by doing everything in their power to provide the people of this country with their Cull wheat requirements by planting sufficient acreage to produce 9,000,000 bushels a year. Wheat-growers will provide a national service of very great value to themselves.*, to their employees, to transport services, to poultry and pig producers, and to every man, woman and child in the country.” ,
