GIRL GUIDES’ PARTY

Reception For Provincial Commisioner. The Girl Guides gave an evening party in St. Andrew’s Hall on Thursday to receive Mrs. Burgess, of New Plymouth, who is Provincial Commissioner. Mrs. D’Arth, as captain, received the commissioner, who enrolled four guides and two leaders, and two Brownies "flew up” to be guides. The Brownies w’ho “flew up” were: Shona Golding and Barbara Ewing. The other Brownies present were: Cora Fredric, June Golding, Shirley Whitmill, Isabel Bird, Dulcie Evans, ( and Jean Watson. Also present were: I Lieutenants of Guides Phyllis Crowe and Guides Leslie Heddidge, Vivi McQuay, Edna Mather, Waverley Hughson, Pamela Whitmill, Coleen Kelly, Rhona Young, Dorothea Lindopp, | Phyllis Femmell, Joan Shannon, Ulwin Joll, Nettie Blanchard, Marie Boon. The following recruits were enrolled: T. Andrews, Phyllis Blanchard, Virginia Davis, Mona Hucker, and Peggy Cunningham. Games of all sorts and competitions made the evening all too short.
