Mrs. Kenneth King hat returned to her home in Auckland after spending 1 holiday with her mother, Mrs. A. J. Harper, of Stratford. * * * Dr. Marion Steven, who has been staying with her people, Dr. and Mrs Steven, left on Thursday for the South. •» * * Mr. E. H. Young has returned from a holiday spent at her beach cottage at New Plymouth. ♦ * * Mrs. McDowall, formerly of Stratford, and now of New Plymouth, visited friends here during the week. * * * Miss Fleming, of New Plymouth, visited Mrs. D. J. Malone during the week-end. * * * Bridge hostesses on Thursday and Friday were: Mesdames J. Fredric, T. Urwin, Steven, and the Misses Masters. ' * * * Mrs. G. Boon, Orlando Street, was “at home” to some friends on Thursday afternoon. The drawingroom was gay with marigolds, and the hostess wore a becoming tunic frock of black charmeuse and overdress of silver grey. Those present were Mesdames N. O. Ebbett, Strachan. F. Bodie, L. Pope, and others. 1
