The Fakir of Ipi has turned a deaf ear to the appeal of the tribai elders to desist itn his anti-British activities'. Consequently, the military measures have been tightened, including special steps to prevent provisions reaching the hostile tribes, who have been ‘Worked up to fanatical fury by the Fakir’s propaganda. There will toon be 30,000 British troops, including two tank brigades, operating in Waziristan, in the hope of invading the Fakir's cave, in the scrub-covered Shaktu Valley.
