Pool of Drivers’ License-fees. The Stratford County Council, at to-day’s meeting received advice from the secretary of the New Zealand Counties’ Asociation, Mr. J. Pow. that it was the intention of the Minister .if Public Works to pool all drivers’ license fees and to use ihe pool for iraffle improvement. After administration expenses have boen deducted from the pool. GO per cent, of the remainder is to go to -ihe Consolidated Fund to meet ihe cost of the national traffic system, and 40 per cent to boroughs of 6000 and over in proportion to their population. As it was proposed to bring the new sys.-tem into force as from June 1, 1938, the next, conference on August 25 would have a chance of discussing the matter, wrote Mr. Pow.
