TARANAKI HOCKEY.
Five Divisions in Province, All hockey competitions in Taranaki except those in the eastern division will start on May 1. it was decided at a meeting of the Taranaki Hockey Association at. Eltham last night. The eastern division play will start on May 8. The tournament, which was held • annually in the past on the King's Birthday, will be held on June 9 and ■ not on May 12. as previously arranged. It was agreed that one selector should be appointed from each division and that a third man. who would be chairman, should be appointed by the management committee. Mr. G. Howatson was appointed senior southern division selector. Mr. L. Innes northern division, and Mr K. Pennington chairman. The junior selectors appointed were Messrs. R. Irwin (east). I. Gerrand (south) and H. C. Johnson (chairman). Mr. R. O. R. Clark, New Plymouth, was appointed to fill the vacancy on the executive caused by the appointment of the Rev. J. A. Ry burn to th© Taranaki Umpires' Association. The province was divided into five divisions as follows: Northern senior: Eltham. Kaponga, Stratford, Tariki, New Plymouth, Old Roys, Wesley. Southern senior: Oeo. Egniont, Otakeho. Whakamara. Hawera, Nolantown, Manaia, Tokaora. Central junior: Mahoe, Stratford Technical High School, Stratford, Okaiawa. Eastern junior: Strathmore, Kohu* ratahi, Whangamomona, Huiroa. Northern junior: Okaiawa Maoris, Stratford, Stratford Technical High School, Mahoe. ' The transfer of H. Gray from Mai naia to Oeo was granted.
