MIDDLE-AGED GERMAN CHARGED. War Office Communicated With. Press Association —Copyright. (Received 11.30 a.m.) London, April 12. Otto Karl Ludwig, a middle.aged German, was charged in the Mistley Police Court to-day <v.'ith, being an alien, attempting to land in the United King'd'om, at Parkeston Quay, in possession of documents and data calculated to constitute an act preparatory to the commission of an offence under the Official Secrets Act. The police gave evidence to the effect that Ludwig arrived from the Hook of Holland, and when charged tald: “I did not realise I had committed an offence. I protest against I my arrest.” In view of the nature of the documents, the poli<se comanuunicabed with the War Office. Accused was remanded. No further details l are available.
