HONOUR FOR JEAN BATTEN
THE HARMON TROPHY. SECOND YEAR IN SUCCESSION. ‘World’s Greatest Airwoman’ • Title. Press Association—Copyright. Received 12.10 p.m. Sydney, April 13. Miss Jean Batten, the famous New Zealand aviatrix, has received advice to the effect that she has bean awarde dthe Harmon Trophy for 1936, which carries with it the title of the “world’s greatest airwoman,” for her solo flight, England to New Zealand. The trophy, which was awarded by the League Internationale des Aviateurs, Paris, after an international vote had been taken, is accompanied by a gold medal given by the. King of the Belgians. Miss Batten said to-day: “I am very proud to have won the Harmon Trophy for the second year in succession. It is a very high honour, indeed.”
