MOSCOW LOTTERY.
Zoo Pets for Children. Mot'»w, April 7. The Moscow Zoo, ont ot the largest and most frequented n the world, has solved the problem of its excess, animal and bird population by distributing young pets to children on a lottery basis. The scheme has proved extremely embarrassing to parens of many children who drew bear cubs, wild pigs, large birds and other "pets” which they could not accommodate tn their cramped living quarters. So many proles: s came in that the too had to agree to exchange such pete for smaller animals and birds. Some 7500 animals and birds were thus distributed.
