ABBEY CORONATION
The Queen’s “Understudy.” Several dress rehearsals will be necestary of the Abbey Coronation ceremony, says a London writer. At these functions the Queen will be represented by a very intelligent understudy in the perton of Lady Rachel Howard, eldest sister of the Earl Marshal of England, the Duke of Norfolk. Lady Rachel, who will privately acquaint Queen Elizabeth of the essential details* of her part in the elaborate ritual, is 31, and the eldest of the Duke’s three sisters*. As a daughter of England’s premier duke she takes* Court precedence of all unmarried ladies outside the Royal circle, and ranks before countesses. She i' a rather quiet, w’ell-read young peeress, with sporting country tastes, and has given much help to her brother in his onerous duties as Earl Marshal on the correspondence side.
