KITCHEN TEA PARTY.

Miss Hope Penn Farewelled. Miss Hope Pjepm, who leaves shortly for Auckland, where she will be married to Mr Jack Eon, formerly of Stratford, was given a surprise “kitchen tea” party at her residence on Saturday afternoon. The function was organised by tier cousin, Miss Lucy Penn, and was a very jolly and gay affair. Miss Hope Penn was wearing a bf* coming frock of floral georgette in light browns and lemon shades, and the hostess, Miss Lucy Penn, looked v’ery smart in a floral ninon frock ot shaded pinks, blue and maze. Those present were: Mesdames R. Curtis, H. Graham (Midhirst), E. W. McCullough, K. Neal, Ch. Penn, W. Farquharson, P. Harrison (Mangatoki), R. R. Tyrer, R. Kirkwood, E. C. A. Gaw, E. Buist, T. Pegg, and the Misses N*. Thorpe, J. Hill (Mam gatoki), M. Malone, M. Lyons, M. Whittle, J. Bremner, J. Jackson, R. F’urrie, M. Curd, 8., Z., and O. Masters, A. Hodges, M. Conqor, A. Haray-Jones and P. Brown. Miss Penn made a charming little speech of thanks ito her many friends for their kind wishes and beautiful gifts. She will be missed, as she is very popular, and sincere good wisher go with her for happiness in her new home.
