FRIENDLY SEPARATION

Lupe Velez and Her Husband Los Ang’eles, April 4. Lupe Velez and Johnny Weissmuller have ' announced a separation. Lupe said: “Neither of us is suing* for a divorce. At present, at any rate, it is a friendly separation.” Ever since their elopement in California four years ago the couple have alternated between quarrels and reconciliations. This separation follows the devotion shown by Weissmuller in rushing from America to England to join his wife, who appeared in. a London revue two months ago.
