Mrs. Bonney, who was the first woman to fly from Australia to England, left this morning for Longreach, the first stage of her 14,000 mile* solo flight to Cape Town. She will make the flight in easy stages, the longest hop being 760 miles. The flight, which has not previously been attempted, is being made in a German Kiem monoplane. From Darwin the route will be: Koepang, then through Java, Singapore, Bangkok, Rangoon, Calcutta, Benares, Delhi, Karachi, Bushire, Baghdad and Cairo, then via Nairobi, Tanganyika, Pretoria and Johannesburg to Cape Town.
