SCHOOLS CLOSED.
Manaia and Otakeho. Schools at Manaia and Otakeho Were closed yesterday because of the presence of infantile paralysis In those districts', and Manaia and Otakeho pupils attending the Hawera Technical High School were under instructions from the Health Department ordered to return to their homes for a period of 14 days’ isolation. The case admitted from Manaia has not yet been declared positive paralysis, although it is said everything clinically indicates the disease. No further cases were reported yesterday. The Maori girl admittd during Easter continues to progress satisfactory, while the second patient from Normanby and the Otakeho case are in much the same condEin as when they were admitted. In some quarters parents have declared that all schools in South Taranaki should be closed and children strictly Isolated in an endeavour io minimis© the possibilities of contact with future cases.
