Filing of Bankruptcy. , Los Angeles, April 4. Because “bills are falling due faster than earnings are coming in,” John Barrymore has filed a limited bankruptcy petition with the Federal Court. It shows liabilities £40,375 and assets £65,400. Before Barrymore played in “Romeo and Juliet” late last year he had made no films for nearly two years. After his divorce by Dolores Costello he went to New York and embarked upon a highly-publicised rorance which ended three months ago in his marriage to 24-year-old Elaine Barrie. They separated after a month and Elaine is demanding alimony.
