Mrs. S. Macalister gave a bridge party on Thursday afternoon. * «• *• Miss Smythe, of Dunedin, is visiting friends in Stratford during her tour of the North Island. * * * Mrs. Steven. Broadway North, was "at home” to a number of friends on Wednesday afternoon. She wore a smart Paris model of black French lace over satin, and a corsage spray of white lace. The drawing-room was delightfully arranged with dahlias, hydrangeas and foliage. Those present included Mesdames D. J. Malone, A. Coleman, J. Lyons, J. Hind, and F. Uniacke.
