FIRST CASE AT WANGANUI

Wanganui, April 7. A boy aged nine from Wanganui East was admitted to the Wanganui Hospital to-day and later was diagnosed as a positive case of Infantile paralysis. This is the first case at Wanganui. Two suspects were reported in the Raetihi district to-day and were transferred to hospital /it Wanganui, where they were declared positive. Because ot a suspect-fd case of infantile paralysis among the pupils, the Martinborough school has been closed until further notice by order of the Wellington Education Board. The suspect is a girl aged three, and is one of a finally of children attending the school.

Two very mild coses of infantile paralysis are reported from the country, says an Oamarq. message. As a result the Waitaki Girls’ High School has been closed until Monday week.
