It was reveal d at Washington today that Germany had agreed to pay £4.494.800 in claims resulting largely from wartime explosions In Blackton, Kingsland and New Jersqy. The terms were reached in July last. It was decided that a brief had been filed with the Mixed Claims Commission by railway and steel companies opposing the attempt of 48 American holders of other awards to block a settlement, which must have the approval of the commission to become effective.
