The death oc-urred last, night of Mr. William Atthur Wiltmah, sen., aged 84. veteran master of the Anchor Company's steamers. Mr. Wildman retired in 1929 with nSdrl: sixty yetis’ srvide with the company. He h4d his first command tn 1888, on the Aorere. Born nt Motueka. Mr Wlldmin’a early days were spent on sailing ships on the Wellington-Nelson ferry service. He crossed Cook Strait about $OOO times, for years epending six nights a week in Cook Strait. Ho leav s on > surviving son. Captain W. A. Wildman, master of the Anchor steamer Matangi: Miss K. Wildman, of Nelson? Mrs. C. A. Pearce, of Nelson. and Mrs. W. Motion. of Dunedin. His wife and three sons predeceased him. Mr. Jack Wildman was lost at sea while serving in a sailing vessel off the African - oast, Mr. Frederick Wildman was killed in action in France In 1915. and Mr. Edward Wildman was killed in an accident on the Arahnra at the Wr’ington patent slip three years ago.
