o New Cases Reported. Press Association—Copyright. Wellington, April 5. A boy aged seven was admitted to the Wellington Hospital to-day from Bi rhampore suffering from infantile paralysis. The Health Department has been notified of a case at Feildj ing. The patient is a girl. A child I from Mount Cook, Wellington, it a suspect, but the authorities state that probably the patient hat not conI traded the disease. A girl aged two years from Kiokio was admitted to the Waikato Hospital at mid-day yesterday suffering from infaiMle paralysis; The case is positive and the child is paralysed in the right leg. This is the third case notified in the South Auckland . area since* laslt' Thursday, the other two being two boys, each aged nine, ! from Otorohanga and Wharoa. After practically a ’Week of freedom from fuillher notification of paralysis in the Wairoa county, tw r o more case have occurred at Nuhaka, the victims being a European boy aged six and a Maori boy of school age. There- are now three cases in Hospital. A suspected case was reported at Gisborne This morning and health officials are awaiting the outcome of the tests before deciding on closing the local schools. A boy aged 10, from Waikiwi, has been admitted to hospiital as a positive case of infantile paralysis in a mild form. Of the suspected cases recently admitted 'to the Palmerston North Hospital, one hat proved positive, being a ten year-old boy from Waituna. He jind the other patients are satisfactory, and other suspected cases have proved negative. There are now seven cases* in hospital.
