DAVIS CUP PROSPECTS.
F. J. Perry’s Views. Press Association —Copyright. New York, April 2. F. J. Perry in an larticle in Collier’s Weekly says the United States has the best chance since 1927 to regain the Davis Cup, but that Australian and Germany are in the best position because they have already selected the number two man. “Experts agree that Australia, the United Sates and Germany are the only real contenders," Perry adds/, “but I think they are eliminating England too quickly. The holding nation is at a big advantage. It has more time to select the team, prepare the players, a familiar court -and a friendly crowd. It is possible a number two man will pop up and completely change the English outlook. “It must be remembered that I lost the shuffle in 1930, but suddenly mastered the rising ball and achieved confluence. It is asserted that I let England down and left it no chance of winning the cup. but I beg to disagree.”
