CUPPER DID NOT LEAVE
SQUALLY AT AUCKLAND EARLY MORNING DELAY Departure Probably Tomorrow. Press Association —Copyright. Auckland, April 3. The American survey clipper left its moorings at four o’clock this morning and taxied down the harbour. A rain squall came on, the visibility was poor, and the ’plane was unable to rise off the water. It taxied round quietly for three-quarters of an hour. Capt. E. Musick then decided that it was already too late, to start with a reasonable certainty of reaching Pago Pago for a good daylight landing. The clipper was moored at 5.30 o’clock, and probably will leave to-morrow morning. On her return from yesterday’s flight the giant flyingboat was given over to the attention of members of the crew and mechanics, who toiled well into the evening getting everything in readiness for the flight of 1850 miles.
