Many valuable war -souvenirs and ein-ios have been offered tbe National War Memorial Carillon Some! v. following its proposal to put a 'i‘'t in tbe carillon tower at Wellington. When the lift iS erected the sovrenirs will be displayed in the thr e chambers below those containing the bells. DENTAL NURSES. By Ttiesflay 56 young women trained as State dental nurses will have taken up residence in “The Mansions,” Ghuznee Street, Wellington. The Government has leased the property as a hostel for the student nurses while they are undergoing instruction before being sent to minister as dentists to children attending the primary schools of the Dominion. WELCOME FOR TOURISTS. “No country I have ever visited, and I have been all over Europe, Africa, Australia and New Zealand, sets itself out more successfully to welcome the tourist and give him a thoroughly good time than New Zealand,” writes Mr. Leslie Blackwell, K.C., a South African Member of Parliament, in a series of articles in a Cape Town paper describing his visit last January to the Domnion.
BAND CONTEST AT WAITARA.
In connection with the band contest which is being held at Waitara next. Saturday, special trains will run between Wanganui and Waitara, with connecting trains from New Plymouth. Particulars of train arrangements and excursion fares will be found in our advertising columns in this issue.
