PLAYWRIGHT'S DEATH

OCEAN LINER MYSTERY INQUEST ON MR F. VOSPER Actor Tells of Cabin Party. Press Association—Copyright. Received 11.30 a.m. London, March 31. An inquest was held to-day into the death of Mr. Frank Vosper, the famous actor and playwright, who disappeared from the liner Paris when travelling from New York to England. Mr. Vosper was in the company of Mr. Peter Willes, an actor, and Miss Muriel Oxford, who was "Miss England of 1935.”

Mr. Willes told how he and Mr. Vosper went to Miss Oxford’s cabin to finish a bottle of champagne. Mr. Vosper spoke of the room being warm and went on to the verandah. There had been no _words of anger. Mr. Vosper was extremely shortsighted and was not wearing glasses because they had been broken. Miss Oxford called out to Mr. Vosper to come and have a drink. There was no reply. "I was puzzled and went on to the verandah and looked right and left,” continued Mr. Willes. “I walked to the window In the centre, which was open, and looked out. I was horrorstricken, for I thought there was a deck outside on which I expected to see Mr. Vosper walking.” Mr. Willes was of the opinion that Mr. Vosper climbed out of the window, expecting to find a deck outside.
