Agreement has been reached' between representatives' of the New Zealand Workers' Union mverninc the rates of pay and general gondi tions for farm and station workers other than those already covered by industrial agreements, such as dairy farm workers, shearers amd musterers.
A statement that the agreement is tentative and pending ratification by Drder-ln-Council Was made by the office of the Minister of Labour yesterday. With the publication of the Or-der-in-Council the agreement, it is stated, provides for a minimum rate for permanent employees of £2 2s 6d weekly and found, with the addition of 17s 6d weekly where board and odgings are not provided. The wage for casual farm labourers by the hour is set dotvn it Is 8d and found, and for hanvestimg work 2s hourly and found. For casual form labourers engaged by the day the rate is 13s 4d daily anl found, or 16s if not found.
