DISASTROUS FIRE
BIG LOSS IN BRISBANE. OVER £lOO,OOO. Hoses Kept Active Day and Night. Press Association —Copyright. Received 12.5 p.m. Brisbane, March 31. The fire which destroyed five buildings owned by Castlemaine, Perkins, Ltd., is estimated to have caused damage amounting to £106,000. The hoses were kept on the buildings all day, and last night, when the debris was still smouldering. The fire also damaged the adjoining buildings and a house.
