Palmerston North Labourer Sentenced. Press Association —Copyright. Palmerston North, March 23. “Did you leave this car suddenly because you were disturbed?” asked Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., of a youth who- appeared before him • on two charges of unlawfully convertingcars.

“Yes. I pushed it only two yards.' from the garage when I thought I was disturbed. I wtas very nervous,” replied the accused. “Then I Will make you a bit more nervous. You will be sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on each charge, the sentence to be cumulative,” remarked' the Magistrate. Th© accused was Cyril Christian Hayes, aged 21, a labourer, v-tio pleaded guilty. To-mom'w he will appear on a charge that he be deemed a rogue and vagabond, allegations being that he was found at night in a dwelling house.
