London, March 20. “It is iniquitous that General Gough still has to bear official blame for th. retreat of March, 1918,” declared Mr Llod George in a message to the re union dinner of “Old Comrades” of the Fifth Army which he was unable to attend owing to indisposition. The message blamed Earl TTSIg British general at headquarters, for' misplacing reserves and neglecting properly to fortify the Fifth ATTny front in disregard of General Gough’s representations. General Gougff, who presided, paid a tribute to Mr Lloyd George’s courage in removing the slur cast on the Fifth Army, which he attributed to Mr Lloyd George being originally grossly misinformed. Herr Ribbentrop, German AmMssa dor in London, and, Major Otzen, th l ' latter representing tne German War iftlce, attended the dinner.
