Gait-ton, designer of Sir Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird, says that two or three cart' are being prepared for attempts on the land speed record. It is not unlikely, he points out, that within three years the motor car will cover a flying mile at a speed of 360 miles an hour The development of the racing car is taking place almost entirely in Germany and Italy, where it is con t-idered that success is worth the cost as a matter of national prestige for which the Governments suhsrtTise certain factories.
