VALUELESS CHEQUES.
Retired Army Officer in Court Press Association—Copyright. Wellington, March 22. Pleading guilty to two charges of istuing valueless chsqurs, one at Wellington and the other at Christchurch William Cledap Morgan, a retired Army officer, appeared in tins Magistrate's Court to-day. Prosecuting, D tective - Sergeani Doyle said that accused had lived at the best hotels, spending a lot of money on drink and leaving without paying his board. Accused's counsel said that Morgan was expecting mon-y from Home. The case was adjourned for one month, the Migistrat’e stating that he would then be in a better position to give a d' cision.
