NO EXTRA MAN.
To Join Cricket Team for England. It was made plain in a statement by Mr. A. T. Donnelly, chairman of the New Zealand Cricket Council that there was to be no alteration to the numerical strength of the New .Zealand cricket team leaving for England on March 27. The team would consist of no more than fourteen. players and the mjanager. Should the occation arise the manager would take the field as a player, it being understood that, if necessary, he v'ould be able to give relief to the wicket-keeper. The question had been raised as to the advisability of sending an extra player, but Mr. Donnelly said that the decision to send fourteen players -emained unaltered. He expected thp team tp get along all right on that numerical strength, taking the -ability of the manager to deputise as wicket-keeper into account, and, in fact, he thought that the team would do well o-n the tour.
