Mrs Moon entertained some friends at a musical evening on Friday. * * * M<rs Furrie entertained some friends at 'bridge on Thursday afternoon. * * * Mrs S. Pitt, Mountain Road, entertained some young friends at tennis on Friday afternoon. The guests were Mesdames R. Curtis and W. D. Brown, the Misses M. Porritt, N. Thorpe, M. Malone, C. Uniacke, M. and P. Lyons. Many good sets were played in lovely sunshine. * * * Mrs A. L. Morgan, Ctfaig Street, was “ait home” yesterday afternoon. She was wearing a frock of floral marocain of blue and pink, and the drawing room was prettily decorated with yellow marigolds. Those present w re: Mesdames R. Cprryer, F. Bodie, L. J. Furrie, L G. Pope, G Hall, P'D. Jeffries, Fookes and N. H. Moes.

* * * Stratford was well represented at the Russian Ballet last night in New Plymouth. Amongst those enjoying the wonderful entertainment were: Mr. and Mrs E. S. Rutherfurd, Mr and Mrs J. B. Richards, Mr and Mrs Roberton, Mr, Mrs and Miss Porritt, Mr and Mrs R. Curtis, Mr and Mrs Leslie Curtis, Mrs R. Masters and the Misses 8., Z., and O Masters, Mrs E. H. Young, Mrs and Miss Uniacke, Mr T. and Miss Hope Penn, the Misses M. Malone, M. Whittle, Mr and Mrs Pedderson, Mr and Mrs Blaben, Mrs and Miss Hawkin, Misses M. Purchase, N. Spearman, E. Cartwright, C. Cartwright, Mrs Tyrer, Mr and Mrs E. Buist, Mr and Mrs D. Farquharson,. Miss N. Thorpe, Mr and Mrs H. Graham, Miss E. Moon, Mr and Mrs Harpur, Mr and Mrs L. Smith, Mr and Mrs Hardwick-Smith, Miss P. Nowell, Miss Nichols, Messrs L. Hewett, K. Moss, and many others. Not since Pavlova was in New Zealand about ten years ago has there been such a unique opportunity to enjoy a delightful evening.
