The most serious result of the recent heavy rains was the loss of thousands of sheep on the northwestern plains. Three thousand were drowned' in the Boomi district, 2000 are missing in the Garah district, and mobs of a thousand or more are unaccounted for oh other holdings. Near Mungindi there is an expanse of water 14 miles wide. It will be days before an accurate estimate of the losses can be made.
