NOISE AND NUISANCES

A deputation, representing the Noise and Nuisances Abatement Society, placed their noise abatement case before the Premier of Nclw South Wales, Mr B. S. B. Stevens; and asked that the Government should deal ruthlessly with the chitf offenders. ' A particular complaint was made against motor cyclists, early morning milkmen, ha'wlkers', newsboys, screeching children in the streets, and persons who operated radio sets at full blast. Government trams were described as the noisiest type of vehicle using the Toads. It wtas asked that an ctfort should be made to suppress hooliganism alt dances and ouitside dance halls, while strong objection was voiced of persons parading the streets near the seaside in bathing costume, and of “hairy individuals, not unlike anthropoid apes, not decently clad; who infested the beaches and
tramf.” The Premier promised to give every consideration to the case.
